are proud to support the return of the Tackley Village
Fayre - the traditional Victorian Fayre which has been
sadly missing for the last six years! It makes it's
comeback this year, and will take place on Saturday,
13th August .
To celebrate the event's new lease of life, there will
be food and drink available from Channel Four's River
Cottage.
The fayre is being reborn thanks to Tackley villagers,
and will raise funds for their community-owned All in
One centre as well as Rural Revival.
Rural Revival is a charity which supports the formation
and growth of rural community enterprises.
Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, of River Cottage fame,
is a passionate supporter of the initiative. He says:
"There are too many rural communities losing an
essential part of their character through the demise
of traditional country events such as this.
"I am very happy to support the Rural Revival
initiative and would encourage everyone to visit - not
just for the fun of it - but to help preserve a glorious
part of traditional English cultural heritage."
As well as the fabulous River Cottage food and drink,
there are a whole host of reasons to go along:
The Real Chitty Chitty Bang Bang - A unique brew by
Badger Beer - Crafts and local foods - Sheepdog ducks
- Terrier racing - Pole jousting - Balloon race -
Cowpat sweepstakes - Horticultural show - Wheelbarrow
races - Children's area with Bouncy castle, Swingboats,
Face Painting and Magician - Have your photo taken
with Oliver Cromwell - Traditional music, dancers
and much much more!
As well as Calor, the fayre is kindly supported by:
